ART GRANT INFORMATION
OPEN CALL FOR ART GRANTS FOR 2008 ECLECTIC ELEVEN
The goal for 2008 is to have multiple fire effigies, multiple art works (to-be-burned or not), performance art, and multiple fire shows. The art grant process is to make it more affordable for creative participants.
Art grants will be up to $500.00 and awarded funds are paid out to artist after the event.
Reimbursements will not be made for items without proper receipts; installation/performance area must be left without a trace.
WHAT CAN GET FUNDED:
- ART materials in the form of visual, audio or performance art.
- Transportation
WHAT DOES NOT GET FUNDED:
- Items that are valuable after the event, example: a generator will not get funded but the fuel to run it might.
ETHICS
- Use of recycled, reclaimed, found and/or repurposed materials as much as possible
- Community involvement, involving others in your project
- Do not burn toxic materials
LEAVE NO TRACE = …leave NO trace.
EFFIGIES
The main effigies (that will burn on Friday & Saturday nights) are commissioned by Vivid Community Arts Foundation.
GOT FIRE?
If your project will involve open flame of any kind, you will need to submit a written fire safety plan along with the grant application.
WHEN YOU WILL GET THE FUNDS:
After the event.
Leave no Trace: your space is left as if you had never been there
Turn in paper work: all receipts and a completed expense form (provided with grant award).
TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT:
In order to cut down the total vehicle-miles involved with getting art out to the festival, we are offering transportation grants. Transportation can be awarded as part of an art grant.
SET-UP SCHEDULE:
