For 2011 Rites of Passage, the Element 11 fire arts community joins 24 other Burning Man Regions to form the C.O.R.E. (Circle of Regional Effigies) that will combine with FIRE BIRDS OF THE FIFTH DIRECTION art project that marks the compass directions and the Man as the fifth.

What is C.O.R.E?
The Circle of Regional Effigies – a ring of effigies that will surround the Man in Black Rock City 2011, each created by a local community from within the Burning Man Regional Network.
The sculptures being placed in a ring around the Man suggests the progress of the Burning Man culture radiating outward from the main fire at our center, out into the larger world. The projects will culminate in a coordinated burn effort, burning every piece in the Circle.
