REGISTER TO CAMP WITH RITES OF ZION
ALL CAMPERS MUST HAVE A REGISTERED CAMP SITE AND ALSO BE INDIVIDUALLY REGISTERED.
EACH CAMP SITE REGISTRATION INCLUDES ONE INDIVIDUAL CAMPER REGISTRATION (READ BELOW).
RITES OF ZION is dedicated to reducing white noise and exhaust from having many random generators. To this end, we offer one 120kw generator to power the whole camp. Registration allows you to plug in to this generator. You will also have access to shower stalls (bring your own water) and we’ll manage the grey water removal. The Rites of Zion camp space will also be protected by a fence / site-guard perimeter.
Step 1: Determine if you are camping by yourself, with a friend or with a group and how much space your group requires (the number and sq ft size of your structures and vehicles, etc.).
Step 2: If you are camping with a group, determine how many are in your group.
Step 3: Based on how much room you need on the ground, select your camp site(s).
Step 4: Based on how many people will be in your camp, add ‘Additional campers’ to your cart. (from Options at bottom of page). BONUS: each camp site fee includes one camper.
Still not sure? Email basscampers@gmail.com for personal reservation assistance. Be NICE! I’m a volunteer who’s here to help you!
For Example: Space Mittens & Darth Bunny are going to Burning Man and want to camp at Rites of Zion. They have one 10 ft dome, 1 6ftx6ft shade piece and 1 compact car. They would reserve one Sm. camp site (15′ft x 20′ft) plus one Additional Sm. Site camper. That’s a total amount of $110 (plus the 2.9% paypal fee). This reserves the camp site and registers both campers (in a 15ft x 20ft space) (room for one tent, one car and two people).
Here’s another Example: Four friends, BananaNana, Sparkle Chao, MachineBean and BermudaFryAngle are also going to Burning Man and want to camp with Rites of Zion. They have one carport (10′ft x 20ft’) and will be camping out of the back of their two trucks. They would reserve one Lg. campsite (15′ft x 30ft’) plus three Add’l Lg. Camper spots. That’s a total amount of $225 (plus 2.9% fee) for the site and four campers (in a 15ft x 30ft space).
Alright, let’s go the distance with a final Example. Five friends in one RV. You’d reserve the RV camp site plus 4 Add’l RV camper spots. That’s a total amount of $310 (plus 2.9% fee) for the site and five campers. The RV site is 20′ft x 40′ft.
Remember, I’m here to help you. If your still not certain what to reserve, email Master Control at basscampers@gmail.com for assistance. I’m a volunteer – so please be patient with me!

2011 Rights of Zion Terms, Conditions & Reservations
By Registering to camp with Rites of Zion (Bass Camp, The Hive, Rites Humanus, Principia Elemental & Fire of Fires), I hereby agree to and understand the following:
- REGISTRATION WITH RITES OF ZION IS NOT ADMISSION TO BURNING MAN. This not your ticket, nor does this registration in any way promise entry to Burning Man. By registering to camp (at Burning Man) with Rites of Zion or any of the related theme camps, you understand & agree that you must also purchase entry to Burning Man separately.
- Registration with Rites of Zion grants you access to the Power Grid, Shower Stalls (you must bring your own water) and Grey Water Removal. Coffee is also being gifted to the Village by the Streamin’ Coffee camp! All registered campers will be given a RITES OF ZION wrist-band.
- You must have a reserved Sm., Lg. or RV camp site to camp with Rites of Zion (and then Add campers to the site as per capacity of the site - see above).
- You are responsible for your own safety, security and survivaland will bring with you everything required to survive in harsh desert conditions.
- The Black Rock desert brings every experience including high winds, dust storms, extreme heat & cold.
- You must bring your own shelter, shade, water (enough for drinking, cooking & showers), food, transportation, bike, art, goggles, dust mask, cup, costumes and LEAVE NO TRACE plan (bring strong, 30 gal trash bags and save room in your transpo to pack out everything you pack in + accumulate, including your trash).
- You understand that single-use glow sticks, feather boas, paper fliers and other trace-leaving decorations and accessories for yourself and your camp, car, art, etc. are PROHIBITED within the Rites of Zion Village and at the Temple of Boom.
- By registering to camp with Rites of Zion, (Bass Camp, the Hive, Rites Humanus, Principia Elemental and Fire Camp), you promise to find more creative ways to glow, shine, sparkle and let the world know you’re a star.
- If you must get lit, use battery (or even Solar) powered EL wire or LED lights.
- You’re plugged into a power grid – light your camp with well secured, low watt LED strands.
- Feather boas always fall apart in the wind – leave them at home.
- Do NOT bring single-use glow sticks or other ‘one time only’ accessories!
- M.O.O.P is Matter Out Of Place. Rites of Zion is committed to LEAVENOTRACE- our goal is an all green rating on the 2011 M.O.O.P. map. By registering with Rites of Zion, you promise to counter-act the effects of M.O.O.P. and commit to LEAVE NO TRACE according to the following:
- Participate in sunrise / sunset line sweeps of the Temple of Boom and Village common space as well as your own camp space.
- You promise to be mindful of your own belongings and not leave them out of place or around camp. (jackets, cups, etc.)
- Orally fixated? If you smoke or chew gum, bring a pocket trash can for your cig butts, gum and wrappers – altoids tins work well. Film canisters are also a good option as they have a tight lid and fit nicely into pockets.
- Always secure your camp (make sure nothing blows away in wind) before leaving – even if just for a minute. One open tent door can make a very M.O.O.P.y situation out of your tents contents in a severe windstorm. Hell, not having your tent staked to the ground with rebar can make UBER-MOOP out of your camp. Button up and batten down before you head out on a journey and you’ll be fine!
- You agree to separate recyclables and take sorted bottles, cans and plastic to Recycle Camp (along Esplanade).
- You also promise to utilize burn barrels for paper / burn friendly waste. There will be several placed around camp.
- If your vehicle leaks any kind of fluid, you agree to lay a tarp or other secured flooring on the ground under your vehicle. (‘Secured’ means ‘won’t blow away in wind storm.
- You agree to hold a 2′x2′x2′ space clear in your car/transportation for packing out all non-recyclable trash (hint – more dry food is less wet trash to store and pack out). (You can also pack wet trash in a bucket or box with lid).
- You will exemplify communal effort by lending a hand and helping out around the Village as you notice its necessary and / or feel inspired to do so.
- As a member of the Rites of Zion Village, you are committing to an experiment in Temporary Community where we live by The 10 Principles of Burning Man.
- You have read the Survival Guide.
- Small generators (or generators for individual camps / tents / RVs) are prohibited while the main Village Generator is in operation. You may bring your own generator as emergency back-up only (we fully support self-reliance). We are a Village where sound and vibration are honored as a creative force. To this end, we strive to reduce white noise while also reducing our fuel consumption and pooling our resources into one large, quiet generator (one generator for them all!!).
- You must bring your own 100′ ft indoor / outdoor extension cord and surge protector. This is what plugs you into the grid.
