Burning Man Utah Regional Contacts Appointed
Thursday, 25 December 2008

The official announcement.

Howdy Utah Burners,

Please join us in thanking the candidates who stepped forward several
months ago to volunteer during our search for your next Utah Burning Man
Regional Contacts. It was a pleasure for us to get to meet Wolf,
Bystander, Jacob, Michelle, Chris, Terra, Spice, Julie and Pamela, and
we appreciated hearing from so many of you during our feedback loop
about these candidates.

We’re excited to announce that using your feedback and our interview
process, the new team has at last been selected: please welcome Chris
Cline, Eldon aka Ranger Spice, Terra aka Kalisti Dawn, and Pamela
Stevens aka Ranger Honey as the new co-Regional Contacts for Utah!

While narrowing down to these four candidates was not easy for us with
so much engaging energy and leadership at the table, we actually are
always learning about how to create a formula that seeks to represent a
diversity of perspectives: different social demographics, personality
characteristics, experiences, strengths and talents, and even
communication styles within any given team. We expect that this group
will enjoy working together in this new capacity, and we look forward to
getting them installed and providing the tools to help them establish
themselves in their roles.

Once we get them set up, Burners will be able to reach these Regional
Contacts in two ways: Spice, Chris, and Terra will be on the alias

Burning Man Announce list. (There’s not  any plan to spin off a separate
Burning Man announce list for Ogden yet, but we will keep in touch with
all the Regionals about anything we can do to help you communicate with
one another as communities evolve across Utah.) Kudos once more are due
to Dave23, who was kind enough to keep up with the administration of the
Utah Announce list during this long search process. Thanks Dave!

Now, we know that the other candidates – and many others of you who are
active in the community – have important contributions to make locally,
far beyond the Regional Contact role with Burning Man, and we know there
are going to be great things coming out of the Utah Burner community for
a long time to come. We have some exciting plans in the works to support
with your new Regional Contacts and others like them around the world to
help provide more tools for all local groups to help nurture the next
level of leadership in a community and assist however we can with that
process.

In Utah, which is one of the most vibrant Burning Man communities
around, we know there’s a big future ahead for this particular
co-Regional team, and we look forward to seeing how things develop and
hearing how the rest of you will participate, too. This is a good moment
for everyone reading this message to make a commitment to help support
this new foursome as a team; we believe it’s up to all of you to help
these four to really create the team and develop their connection to one
another, and to solidify and improve their relationship to all of you,
and to the many others who will help keep the community connected
together and the fires burning all year. We encourage you all to reach
out to your new regionals now to say hello, and to yourselves become a
part of the story as it evolves.

We also encourage you to keep in touch with us at

last week, and in the meantime, we hope you all have a fantastic holiday.

Cheers,
Andie Grace

Status of New Burning Man Utah Reps
Thursday, 10 July 2008

New Burning Man Utah Regional Reps should be announced by the end of the month.

Website Updates
Thursday, 10 July 2008

I'm glad to see many people checking out the site. The last few weeks, I have been busy implementing a social network for the burn community. There have been some issues and bugs.

The log-in succes redirect has been fixed. The change in the search engine friendly (SEF) url has been disabled until all components and features have been implemented. I would hold-off on bookmarking anything except the home page as the auto rewriting of the links will be unstable until the end of July.

Registration should be fixed. An update to the component caused a few errors.

Please join the tribe Element 11 Website in the Utah Burn Tribe >> Computers and Internet category to provide feedback, features request and bug reporting.

Peace and Fire On!

Pets Room/Board - Close to Playa
Monday, 11 May 2009

Plan ahead! Pets are NOT ALLOWED at Sea Base - please make arrangements to care for your pets before hand:

Thanks Jade (from the Yahoo group last year)

As a follow-up the discussion of dogs not being allowed at Seabase: I
boarded my dog
at the Pampered Pet Resort, 162 S Cooley St,
Grantsville, UT 84029 (435) 884-3374 and .www.pamperedpetresort.com

The place was beautifully clean and costs $14/night, as compared to $24-
$26/night in Salt Lake City.

Hugs to all, Jade Jaguar

Again - this is a post from last Fall - rates may have changed.  Please remember that pets are not allowed at Sea Base and make arrangements to care for your pets before you arrive.  Thank you!
